Royal Mail Service Updates: Christmas & New Year DeliveriesFriday, 31 December 2021 | Admin Service Updates from the Royal Mail Help Centre:We continue to work hard to collect, process and deliver the UK’s mail. However, despite our best endeavours, it’s likely some areas of the country may experience some level of disruption. Every item of mail is important to us, so we’re working hard to keep any delays to a minimum. Due to local issues such as COVID-related self isolation, high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors, some deliveries may be delayed. In those cases we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Friday 31 December 2021The mail centres below reported not all mail was processed or despatched to schedule over the weekend, and as a result may be delivered slightly later than expected.

NEW YEAR:Ofcom has granted an exception to the universal service throughout the United Kingdom for Saturday 1 January 2022. This means that Royal Mail will not collect or deliver any mail on the following days over the New Year: Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd & Monday 3rd January 2022. Normal deliveries and collections will resume on 4 January 2022, with the exception of Scotland due to a Public Holiday. International DeliveriesItems are leaving the UK for all overseas destinations on time. We're working with our airline and postal/courier partners to maintain services across the globe, however delays should be expected as a result of ongoing COVID-19 reduction measures and reduced air transport capacity. Items to some EU destinations are also experiencing customs delays. This is the result of changes to the EU’s VAT rules for items from non-EU destinations from 1st July. Signatures on delivery may also not be available in many countries due to social distancing requirements. Please see individual country listings for any exceptions or special measures which may cause in-country disruption. Customers are advised to identify whether items being imported into a specific destination will require licences/certificates or incur additional charges. To identify specific Country requirements, please visit the individual country pages. For the latest individual country delays, issues and suspensions check the International Incident Page.
